VOPAK TERQUIMSA OBTAINS THE RE-EVALUATION OF THE AEO AUTHORIZATION

08 October 2018

Vopak Terquimsa has obtained the re-evaluation of the authorization of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), of customs simplification / protection and security.

The figure of the AEO refers to those operators that are reliable and recognized among countries within the logistics chain, capable of ensuring that the movement of goods internationally is carried out safely within the regulatory framework of the World Customs Organization (WCO) .

Vopak Terquimsa, was the first port terminal to obtain in March 2011 the AEO certification for its two terminals in Catalonia, in compliance with the requirements framed within the framework of security and protection, financial solvency and records management.

Eduardo Sañudo, General Director of the Company, assured "we are committed to certification as an authorized economic operator since its inception, being the first liquid bulk terminal certified in our country. At Vopak Terquimsa we have the constant objective of optimizing our processes and, certification as an AEO is undoubtedly an improvement in the efficiency of our customs processes, which entails significant savings in time and money for our customer”.

The AEO Operators, as trusted partners of the Customs Administration, are subject to fewer controls and can benefit from simplifications of customs procedures. The reduction of dispatch times and reduction of controls, facilitates that the goods circulate in a more fluid way and allows a reduction of the global logistic costs.
