Vopak Terquimsa has celebrated the thirteenth edition of GLOBAL SHE DAY, an event that the Dutch company Vopak holds simultaneously in the group’s 67 terminals located in 32 countries around the world. Under ‘Care for SHE: Working safely towards our sustainable future’ the company has wanted to highlight the importance of safety and the commitment to sustainability, values that have characterized always to Vopak.

«Our sustainability agenda is born from the conviction that we must generate value for society as a whole, and that we want to play a relevant role in the energy transition process that we as an industry as a whole must face. It is also born from the conviction that we want to help build a future in which we will continue to store essential products for life, as we have been doing for the last 50 years» the general director of Vopak Terquimsa, Eduardo Sañudo, who has highlighted in his presentation revealed that “we have renewed our website www.vopakterquimsa.com, giving it a modern, visual, innovative concept where we express what we want to be and how to become it.”
For yet another year, the company has shown its persistent effort to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment for its own employees, collaborators and ultimately for the entire community. Eduardo Sañudo has focused that «we have made a deep reflection of our purpose and our values. We understand the change that our sector is experiencing, and we want to be a relevant actor. We want to be strategic partners of our clients. We want to contribute to the development of our environment and we are fully aware that all this begins with the safety of our processes».
In the chapter on safety recognitions, Vopak Terquimsa has awarded the external award to the company Emypro, for its excellent work in safety during the construction works of ‘Cubeto 16’. The internal safety distinctions of the GLOBAL SHE DAY has specifically fallen on the entire team at the Vopak Terquimsa Terminal in Barcelona, for having accumulated three years without accidents.
In addition, in social matters, the internal projects ‘An applause for me’, project for the realization of a documentary series, about the life and emotions of a group of people with cerebral palsy; and the ‘Sports Campus of Sant Salvador’, which fully helps defray the costs of sports facilities, also offering scholarships for children with low income or at risk of social exclusion, have been the projects chosen by the company that will be sponsored by the promotion of sport and inclusion, values linked to Vopak Terquimsa.
The GLOBAL SHE DAY 2021 has been held telematically adapted to the current circumstances we find ourselves in. The event was attended by Eelco Hoekstra, President of the Executive Board & CEO of Royal Vopak and Jorge Lanza, CEO of EXOLUM.
